The ketogenic diet is a high fat, moderate protein and low carbohydrate diet.
The aim is to eat plenty of fats (ideally healthy fats) and control carb intake by having no more than 5g of carbs in a meal or snack and keep daily carb content low (typically 20 - 30g carbs per day)
By eating less carbs and more healthy fats, we enter ketosis where the body burns fat instead of carbohydrate for fuel.
Ketosis can provide a lot of health benefits such as:
improving heart health, enhance brain function, aid weight loss and decrease bloating.
Another benefit of eating more healthy fats is it can help you feel fuller for longer and curb cravings.
